Senior diplomat, carrying a 36+ years’ experience in the fields of politics as well as both bilateral and multilateral interstate relations. Longtime field practice in handling urgent problems arousing in the post-Cold War era, with special focus on both the Ex-Soviet Union states and the Balkan countries. Dealt in depth with questions of human rights, basic freedoms and disarmament, in the framework of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, whereby geopolitical settings and problems constitute a quintessential element. Extensive knowledge of Eastern Europe & the Balkans. A passionate teacher/trainer by vocation, he crowned his professional itinerary as Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA in Athens supervising the preparation of new diplomats for their career. Prior to his diplomatic career, intensive teaching experience in his Greek and German Almae Matres, the Athens University and the J. W. Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main.
