SPECTRUM S.A. → 1999 – TODAY
Spectrum S.A. was formed specifically to assist receivers who at the time were actively trading food stuff in to ports in East Africa. A part of it was aid, linked to the World Food Program, but the majority was commercial cargo and Spectrum S.A. has had many successful years trading in that part of the world. The company evolved initially as a service to Far Eastern ship owning clients of Network Chartering S.A. who wanted to start a parceling service out of the Far East, in to the Mediterranean and Continent. They had the ships, but not the “know-how” and Spectrum S.A. was formed to fill this gap and offer them the cargoes needed for the operation to run successfully. The service proved a great success and out of this Spectrum S.A. eventually morphed in to a time charter operator, offering similar services to shippers and traders around the world.
As a time charter operator, Spectrum S.A. is in a position to quote shippers and traders firm freight rates for either spot or forward cargoes, offering the link needed in the trading chain, to assist them sell, or buy, their cargoes in the confidence that the shipping end will be handled efficiently and professionally by Spectrum S.A., at pre-agreed freight rates and terms.
